A Bit About Me

I graduated from WCU in 2010 with a B.S.ed in K-12 Art Education degree. This is my 15th year teaching art in Elementary grade levels. I have been doing art either in a classroom or teaching for 23 years and even before that I always considered myself to be a creative person. Prior to art I sang in chorus from 4th grade until 9th grade and it was during my 9th grade year I switched to visual arts and never looked back. I believe it is my job to create lifelong learners through Art. Teaching problem-solving skills that connects to all subjects and of course to have fun creating!  I  just celebrated my 12th wedding anniversary we are high school sweethearts. We have 6 amazing fur-babies, 4 dogs and 2 cats.

I use a lot of resources to create lessons for my K-5 students. I wanted to create a space where all those resources are easy to find. This site is a starting point that takes you to other sites I have used in the past or are still currently using.

I hope you find everything you need to get creative on this site.

Creativity doesn't always have to be with a pencil and paper or a brush with paint, it can be with anything. Draw in the mud with a stick or draw on a junk mail envelopes. Build something out of woods or make a picture using leaves. We can make the most of what we have available to us.

Just keep practicing!

And the Most Important thing is......TO HAVE FUN! and to Practice!
